Baumann builds paintings out of whatever culture leaves lying around — a meme here, a novel there — and lets utopia and dystopia argue it out on the same canvas.

Born in Berlin in 1993, trained at the city's University of the Arts, and along the way got unusually good at intaglio printing, a technique most painters don't bother with.

Turned fully professional in 2019. We own “Verwirken” — 220 × 125 cm, which sounded fine until someone had to frame it. Creative framing ideas welcome.
